Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, stated on his new social media platform, Threads, that he wants to face off against Musk, 51 years old, on August 26th, but he is still awaiting a response from his technological rival.

“I’m ready now,” wrote Zuckerberg, 39 years old, in response to Musk’s tweet about the preparation for the match.

“I proposed August 26th when he first challenged, but no confirmation yet. I’m not holding my breath.”

These two social media giants have been exchanging remarks about this mixed martial arts home match since June.

Musk, the owner of X, formerly known as Twitter, previously announced on Sunday that the match between him and Zuckerberg would be livestreamed on his social media platform, and the proceeds would be donated to veterans’ charities.

Zuckerberg also responded to this tweet on Threads, writing, “Should we use a more reliable platform that can actually raise funds for charity?”

The potential “Zuck vs. Musk” showdown began when Musk posted on June 20th that he was “ready for a home match” with Zuckerberg, who practices jujitsu.

Zuckerberg then responded on Instagram by asking Musk to “send location,” to which Musk replied “Vegas Octagon,” a reference to the main MMA event center.

In an additional tweet on Sunday, Musk hinted at his view if the match were to happen.

“If it’s a short fight, I may win,” he wrote. “If long, he might win in terms of stamina. I’m way bigger, and there’s a reason MMA has weight classes.”
